APPOINTMENTS & UPDATES CCR

EOS Solutions UK has achieved a full authorisation status with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) together with approval to act as principal to appointed representatives – field collectors. Stuart Knock, chief

executive, said: “I am really delighted and proud of what we have achieved with the authorisation; our ability to approach self-employed field collectors with our new Dator app and a robust field- management structure is a compelling proposition and will set us apart from the crowd. “We had to demonstrate to the FCA how our self-

employed structure was as good as, or better than, the employed field-collector model and the authorisation suggests that the message was understood.”

“Despite many organisations repeatedly warning consumers

about the importance of being careful with how they use and share their personal data, it seems that some still make it pretty easy for the fraudsters,” said Lisa Hardstaff, Equifax credit information expert.

A small-scale improvement within European economies could be hampered by a lack of investment, warned Coface’s chief economist at the credit insurer’s Country Risk Conference. In his presentation about the pace of recovery in the

Eurozone, Julien Marcilly said that despite some positive signals, the conditions for strong long-term growth were missing. Low inflation and the exchange rate for the Euro had boosted household spending and exports respectively, but levels of private investment had not revived significantly, except in Spain.

Neural Technologies has implemented its most effective bypass fraud solution to date, combining operator test call solutions with Neural’s Minotaur Fraud Management Solution. According to a survey by the Communications Fraud Control

Association, bypass fraud cost operators almost $2bn in 2013 and there is no evidence that this number has decreased. Neural’s latest approach combines analysis of the test-call data used by operators to detect fraud, with the traditional CDR analysis undertaken by the Minotaur solution.

The Credit Services Association has appointed Katherine Laird to the new position of business liaison executive. Her role will focus on attracting new members, predominantly via outbound, direct communication methods, whilst offering an increased range of services and products to existing members. Communications, marketing and events manager Colleen

Magee said: “Our membership is critically important, and Katherine’s experience and enthusiasm for the role will help to drive that positive relationship."
