2016 marks the 80th anniversary of the Mount Gay Round Barbados Race Series held each year from 16 to 24 January. With a programme comprising three days of coastal inshore races, the 60nm Round Barbados Race and the 300nm Ocean Passage Race to Antigua, all of which can be entered independently of each other, there is something for all sailors to enjoy. And as Barbados is the home of Mount Gay Rum, you are guaranteed as much fun off the water as on, especially if you break one of the 14 round Barbados records and win your skipper’s weight in Mount Gay Extra Old.

The 80th Anniversary round barbados 28-31 JANUARY – Superyacht Challenge Antigua
Hosted by the Admiral’s Inn and Antigua Rigging in association with National Parks Antigua, the sixth edition of the Superyacht Challenge Antigua is now a well-established superyacht event. Up to 15 superyachts (80ft and over) enjoy a celebration of sailing solely for the pleasure of owners, their guests and crew. The magnificent fleet enjoy three days of spectacular racing, governed by the ORCsy Handicap Rule with daily pursuit races along the stunning south coast of Antigua. The racing is very competitive but dedicated to pure fun afloat and ashore, where all participants enjoy a relaxed party atmosphere, free from commercial endorsements.

22-25 FEBRUARY – RORC Caribbean 600
The RORC Caribbean 600, which starts and finishes in Antigua, is a popular addition to the Royal Ocean Racing Club's race programme, proving an irresistible temptation for offshore racers from all over the world. The 2015 edition attracted a record entry of 66 yachts from 11 nations who enjoyed the heavenly conditions of warm waters, guaranteed trade winds and a challenging racecourse weaving through 11 stunning Caribbean islands. This 600-mile Cat 3 offshore race is popular with a huge variety of ocean-racing yachts, from family cruiser racers to the latest racing machines including superyachts and multihulls.
