www.industrynorth.co.uk Hardened 8 port Ethernet switch meets the

demanding needs of industrial environments Demanding industrial applications need every bit of kit to be up to spec. With industry 4.0 and IoT we need to network more and more of our factory floor and that means adding in switches that are robust.

How about a tough metal cased product, that’s IP60 rated and can cope with temperatures between -40ºC to +75ºC?

Standard industrial features such as redundant dual power, inputs between +5V to +30V DC, slim DIN mount design in a tough but light powder coated aluminium case are all available from the Brainboxes SW-608 hardened 8 port Ethernet Switch.

The SW-608 has a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of £149, giving you simple network expansion, at the right specification and price.

The SW-608 is part of a range of industrial switches in different form factors - More information available at

Designed specifically for enclosures, Rittal has launched a new generation of lights. Setting new standards for energy and high performance, the range uses LED technology which will deliver up to 1,200 lumens, and for easy installation, there are simple connection and mounting options.

Often neglected, lighting is an area in the design of enclosures that plays a vital role in helping with installation and maintenance. The ability to easily identify different wire colours, for example, is clearly vital for both.

Targeted illumination

Two models of the new enclosure lights are being launched with luminous fluxes of 900 and 1200 lumens.

They use LEDs which provide outstanding energy efficiency and have a much longer lifetime than other light sources. Their transparent plastic lens with integrated Fresnel lenses focus the light in such a way that the entire enclosure is illuminated, even down at the bottom. It means the light can be targeted towards areas where it is needed, without being scattered into the exterior.

If required, the system can also daisy-chain up to 15 lights from a single power source.

Rapid installation and simple mounting

There are a range of options for turning the lights on and off - by an integrated switch, a door switch or a motion detector. Each light is also equipped with a socket.
