Now in its eighth year and firmly established as the UK's leading event for small and ultra-precision technology, Micro Nano MEMS returns to the NEC, Birmingham on 28th and 29th September 2016

xhibitors including Accumold, Celoplás S.A., euspen, IDB Technologies, Inex Microtechnology, JEMI, Laser Lines, Nano Tech Japan, Optimax, Oxford Lasers, Physik Instrumente, Plasma Therm, Scitech Precision, Smart Systems Integration, Laser Micromachining, Optek Systems and more will showcase the latest technologies at the event this September. Marcos Sampaio, technical manager for Celoplás, explains the company’s area of expertise. He says: “We have more than 25 years of experience on injection moulding and tools development. More recently good efforts have been made on the micro area as an opportunity identified on the markets it works for, mainly automotive, electronics, electrical, telecommunications and medical.
“This is our second year attending the show and again we are expecting to meet high quality visitors with highly challenging technological projects and show how our competences on micro-moulding and micro-manufacturing can fulfil and surprise them. We are proud to show the world our outstanding and emerging technologies on a microscale! Come and visit us on stand H10.” The European Society for Precision Engineering and Nanotechnology has pledged its support for the 2016 event. Business development manager, Dishi Phillips says the show is a good opportunity for the society to showcase its recently launched education programme ECP2 to the delegates and exhibitors attending the show.
Dishi says that visitors will benefit from “opportunities for collaborating with euspen on events and activities and networking with the precision engineering community.” Aaron Johnson, vice president of marketing and customer strategy, for Accumold comments: “The future is small, or should we say micro?! The interest is not just size but complex and very challenging components to boot. Precision says: “We are supporting the show to communicate our services to the Micro engineering community in the UK and beyond, as well as network with other suppliers in the UK. “You can expect to see novel and highly
cost effective solutions to challenging engineering issues in the form of highly skilled micro engineering, MEMS and optical engineering.”
Commenting on upcoming trends and what visitors can expect to see from PI at the show, marketing manager Richard Moss says: “With a forecasted growth in grant funding over the coming months and years within the research sector, the market opportunity is expected to grow significantly within Micro/Nano ultra- precision motion and in particular for those
applications within extreme environments like Vacuum or Radiation. “We will be presenting our portfolio of
ultra-precision motion and positioning systems, with a broad array of products being demonstrated including Piezo drives suitable for both ambient and those non- ambient conditions.
“Also on demonstration will be a series of magnetic drive technologies, which are increasing in application popularity, due to their incredible velocities and resolution capabilities. “To conclude a compelling display, we will also present friction free levitation drive technologies with both rotary and linear air bearing stages, which no doubt will be of significant interest to so many.” Barry Dunne is director of engineering at INEX Technologies. He says: “In straight forward terms, INEX Microtechnology collaborates with customers to develop micro and nano scale devices. Micro Nano MEMS is a unique show in the UK. It represents the core of what INEX does. Asked what visitors can expect, Alec
