e’ve received a very positive response following the launch of the Building Services Awards last month, with a number of entries coming in already. The awards are designed to recognise the hard work of the apprentices, engineers, manufacturers and installers that push the boundaries of the building services sector, and the winners will be revealed at the prestigious Tower Hotel on Tuesday 21 January 2020. In a first for the industry, a secure online voting process will produce a shortlist of finalists in the voted- for categories, with a panel of expert judges selecting the finalists in many others.
Companies and individuals are able to enter into the relevant categories online for free via the

Building Services Awards website. Here they can nominate the leading products, projects and people that they feel help to make the industry thrive.
Once the deadline for entries and nominations has been reached, judges will shortlist and choose the winners for ‘Building Services Project of the Year’, ‘Training Initiative of the Year’, ‘Building Services Product of the Year’ and ‘Building Services Ancillary Product of the Year’. Similarly, ‘Sustainable Product of the Year’, ‘Energy Management Project of the Year’, ‘Corporate Social Responsibility Award’ and the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ will also go before a judging panel. In the remaining categories, an online vote will mean leading industry professionals will get the chance to have their say.
From the Editor
Winners for each of these categories will be revealed at the evening awards dinner featuring a champagne reception, three- course meal and the highly anticipated presentation ceremony, giving attendees the chance to celebrate their achievements and network with the individuals that make a difference within our industry. The ceremony will take place on the first day of Building Services Live, a dedicated and interactive exhibition designed to showcase innovations from within the sector, culminating in an evening of recognition at the Building Services Awards.
Interest in the event has already been high, and with the deadline for entries set for 13 September, now is the time to think about getting your entries in. For a full list of categories and more details on how to enter, visit the website at
www.buildingservicesawards.co.uk and we’ll also have further information in next month’s issue.
