TOPICAL CHALLENGES “Our programme this year tackles topical

challenges such as Brexit and we continue to provide a platform for supply chain decision makers from across all modes to learn from the experts and debate the issues that affect us all,” says Robert Jervis, logistics portfolio director, Clarion Events. “We are always happy to host

keep close to the reality of our market and its needs.” The Cargo iQ Working Group will meet to

meetings supporting our Multimodal community and are pleased that Cargo iQ members will have the opportunity of networking with new contacts and suppliers as well as taking part in their Working Group.” Executive director at Cargo iQ Ariaen

Cargo iQ and GSF recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding and will explore new ways of working together. “Multimodal is a great opportunity to

meet with all participants from the supply chain from shipper to forwarder to airline,” says Zimmerman. “This aligns perfectly with our efforts to

involve the complete air cargo industry in our performance programmes. We will be there with over 50 professionals from our membership in a three day working conference on our various initiatives. “Being so close with the visitors and events of Multimodal is a great way to

drive important developments in air cargo quality including the adoption of a clear and concise standard for the measurement of Door-to-Door shipments, the move toward sustainable and scalable milestone offset management, implementation of quality control metrics for ground handling agents and airports and the alignment of Cargo iQ with initiatives such as Piece Level Tracking and e-AWB. Over 300 exhibitors from across the

logistics industry will take part in this year’s Multimodal including Agility, Maritime Transport, Dachser, Malcolm Logistics, Kuehne + Nagel, Port of Dover, CMA CGM Group, Port of Antwerp, Yusen Logistics and MSC.

Briggs Equipment will be discussing its asset management proposition for port and freight terminal operators. Awarded the largest and most diverse contract last year when it became the primary supplier of materials handling services to Peel Ports Group, Briggs is reinforcing its share of the multimodal marketplace with flexible solutions that add value and demonstrate innovation. By delivering full asset management support from procurement to disposal Briggs not only meets current needs but takes into consideration business growth and a changing economic landscape to provide its customers with appropriate support into the future. Preferred supplier to Malcolm Logistics, Briggs is partnering with Forth

Ports Group at the Port of Tilbury and Scotland's largest container terminal, the Port of Grangemouth. In January Briggs secured an additional £5million contract with container services specialist Pentalver to support its Cannock, Felixstowe, Southampton, Tilbury and London Gateway terminals.

ASSET MANAGEMENT FOR PORT AND FREIGHT TERMINAL OPERATORS "Increasingly, ports and freight handling businesses are looking into

partnering with a single supplier to streamline their operations while they seek to increase capacity, improve efficiency and meet key environmental targets,” says national account and business development director Ian Tongue. "During the past 18 months we've secured several major new contracts which have cemented our reputation as a solutions provider and boosted our share of this marketplace to 60%. Briggs Equipment is well- known as a supplier of Hyster reachstackers and laden and empty container handlers but it is the scope of our overall offer including finance, fleet management and engineering support that will be our focus at Multimodal." This event provides Briggs Equipment with the ideal platform to reinforce

its credentials with ports, docks and freight handling yards. Innovative, customised solutions provide a response to current requirements but by developing long-term relationships built on mutual trust Briggs helps its customers to achieve important commercial objectives as their businesses grow. The only provider to meet Peel Ports Group's requirements, Briggs delivers unequalled levels of engineering services expertise from a nationwide team of 600 highly skilled engineers. Round-the-clock support is available from dedicated teams based on site, ensuring a rapid response to service and maintenance requirements while minimising equipment downtime. Briggs Equipment's asset management tool BE Portal continues to play a crucial role in the company's partnerships with port-centric operations, helping to generate key efficiencies while driving up productivity. With 24/7 access to reliable data, customers benefit from total fleet

transparency and can see at a glance how their machines are performing. The system is helping to enhance safe working practices as the data enables users to identify driver training requirements.
