My work in the community is something I’m extremely proud of.” It hasn’t been all plain sailing for Anne, as we move on to the topic of obstacles. Anne continues: “At the moment we’re going through a big change in the organisation, it’s called ‘Experience of the Future’. McDonald’s is changing everything we do in one way or another. For example, you can order on a digital menu kiosk, there is now table service and new products, and even the way we prepare the food has changed. “The scheme is being rolled out across the UK and I’m about halfway through the changes. To keep anything relevant, you have to move with the times; it’s future-proofing the franchise. This has been a little challenging for me and my staff, as we’re getting used to a different way of running things, but we’ve jumped those hurdles and are happy to be on-board with the McDonald’s transformation.” Anne is an accomplished businesswoman and has achieved many accolades along the way. Her latest was the Franchisee of the Year Award at the 2016 Encouraging Women Into Franchising Awards, which was “amazing,” Anne humbly adds.
