Not all of the students in the University of Mary- land Equine Studies Program actually go on to a career in horses, but some do. Amy Posey is the owner and operator of the “great little boarding barn” Fiddler’s Folly in Edgewater (Anne Arundel County), which she leases from long-time eques- trian Mary Hoff man. In addition to running the boarding operation, Posey is a certifi ed Nutrient Management Planner and serves on the board of
the Prince George’s Soil Conservation District. September’s Hurricane Ida spun off some F2 tornados, one of which roared through Fiddler’s Folly, demolishing sheds and knocking down fences and trees. No one was hurt, however, and the combined test that weekend kicked on!
Ken and Jill Moss started Kingdom
Horse Trailers after they looked into buying a trailer for their daughter. They became highly annoyed at what they be- lieved were the unreasonably high prices of new trailers. That was in 2013. Today, business is booming and the couple has two locations, the original location in Harford County and a second location in North Carolina. Kingdom Horse Trailers re-
ceived their Industry Professional membership as a perq of their Equi- ery advertising contract.
