Nikki Austin NAME:
How long have you been working in the industry? Almost 19 years since I took my first qualification.
What first attracted you to the nail industry? I wanted lovely nails and decided to do the course offered at the college I was attending to do my beauty therapy.
Which qualifications do you hold? I hold many, many certificates from companies such as Artistic, CND, Harmony and ITEC to name a few. I not only hold nail qualifications but also Beauty Therapy, Lashes, Tanning, Lash Lift and Massage along with my PTLLS.
What does being an Educator involve? Sharing! Knowledge and a love of the industry is very important along with a supportive nature. You don’t just teach and walk away you need to be there for your students to support them on their journey.

What do you love most about your job? As a Louella Belle Educator I love watching students start out on their journey and blossom into competent nail technicians. Seeing them grow and get better gives a real sense of satisfaction that you've done your job properly.
What’s the most difficult part? Seeing people under valuing themselves. Why pay out for good education and then sell yourself short by charging a pittance for a great set of nails.
What is your day-to-day like? I work on clients, run my home, and look after the animals and children...quite chaotic really!
Who or what inspires you? The industry as a whole inspires me. Just when you think it can't get any better another product comes out to improve our jobs. Who inspires me? Danny Haile, Doug Schoon, Sam Biddle, Fiona Agnew, the list could go on but these four I am in awe of for their

talent and endless commitment to the industry.
What is your favourite nail trend this year?
Glitter! I just love bling.
What is your favourite nail brand and why? Artistic Rock Hard Liquid and Powder. I'm an acrylic girl through and through and this product ticks all the boxes for me. It's strong, durable and lasts most of my clients at least 3 weeks.
What’s your favourite nail art to create on a client? Simple designs with some glitter or stamping. You don't have to be a great artist to produce nail art, there's some great tools out there to help you achieve designs that look elaborate but are very simple.
