Cockpit Suspension

For many years Profl ex has been established in Stolwijk in the Netherlands and has worked closely with Murray Motorsport since the early 90’s. Profl ex has become the specialist for developing, engineering and manufacturing of shock absorbers. Profl ex develops, manufactures and sells worldwide high quality and performance shock absorbers for rally, rallycross and racecars and for circuit racing motorcycles. Their products are extensively used from the World Rally Championship through to

National club level. They are also well represented at circuit racing. Under those extreme circumstances their products feel at home and that’s what they are made for. Profl ex can manufacture shock absorbers for most vehicles. They specialise in Prototype and “one off ” designs. For more information please call us.

1 EVOLUTION 4

The Evolution 4 MacPherson - type strut assembly is only available in 55.0mm sized units. It is a twin-tube design using only plain bearings with internal lubrication system. This damper has been developed and tested on World Championship events and its unique twin tube and internal lubrication system can reduce maintenance time.

2 EVOLUTION 3

The Evolution 3 MacPherson - type strut assembly is also available in 45.0 mm and 55.0 mm sized units, suitable for all applications excluding F.I.A. Gp N classes. This specifi cation consists of one roller bearing assembly attached to the insert, and an additional rollerbearing assembly at the top of the outer casing. The ‘Full Roller Bearing’ strut assembly, developed under W.R.C. conditions, has lead to possibly the lowest friction strut assembly that is generally available.

3 EVOLUTION 2

The Evolution 2 MacPherson - type strut assembly is available in 45.0 mm and 55.0 mm sized units. Suitable for all applications excluding F.I.A. Gp N classes. This specifi cation consists of one roller bearing assembly attached to the insert, and one fi xed P.T.F.E. bush on the top of the outer casing. Frequent lubrication of the fi xed bush can easily be carried out using the special grease and applicator provided.

4 CONVENTIONAL

This Conventional shock absorber has all the features of other units from the Profl ex range in terms of adjustability and performance. Can also be used as a coil-over unit where required. Available for most vehicle applications from single seater racing cars to off road and raid type machines subject to compatible design parameters.

5 CLASSIC

Designed to fi t Mk I and II Ford Escorts. This non adjustable damper is legal for most Historic Rally Categories. Check for your regional eligibility situation. Available with new Gartrac Stub Axles. Use with Coil or Leaf Springs. The Profl ex Classic gives you the latest technology and is unrivalled in this class.

6 RACING DAMPERS TTX 36

The TTX 36 is a popular choice, especially for GT-cars and prototypes as well as in single seater applications. Features improved internal oil fl ow and is of a non-through rod type. The confi guration out of the box is 2-way adjusted; 1-way compression and 1-way rebound, but is easy to upgrade to become 3- or even 4-way adjusted.

TTX 46

TTX 46 MT has featured heavily in GT, sports car and touring car succes and is accompanied by the TTX 40. The concpet of this damper features a 46 mm solid piston with a through rod of 30 mm, providing a rigid and lightweight strut. To further improve the rigidity, the outer tube is made from a special aluminium alloy. It is four- way adjustable providing a wide range of adjustment without even taking the strut off the car. Of course it has all the benefi ts from a positive pressure build-up.

TTX 40

The TTX 40 twin tube damper features a 40 mm solid piston and a through rod shaft which eliminates the requirement of an external reservoir. The design is fully pressure balanced with a positive pressure build-up throughout the adjustment range, eliminating the risk for cavitation as well as enabling the use of low gas pressure, keeping the internal friction at bay. The top eye can easily be re-clocked without opening the damper. The TTX 40 is a fully independent four-way adjustable damper.

TTR

This high end racing damper is for teams seeking optimal performance and on-track success. Features include a precise valving system, both high and low speed can be zeroed externally to ensure an accurate matching between dampers while at the same time maintaining reference clicks. The TTR damper combines top performance with user friendly handling, for instance change valving in close to one minute.

7 RALLY AND OFFROAD DAMPERS TPX/TTX

The strut is a twin piston McPherson strut (TPX44) and is three-way adjusted, one-way rebound and two-way compression. The damper is a four-way adjusted twin tube (TTX44) damper. Both dampers have a 44mm piston and are fully pressure balanced, eliminating the risk of cavitation and due to low gas pressure they keep the internal friction level low.

TTR

This shock is developed for the rally Group N class. The front strut is a Twin Piston McPherson strut with a 44 mm diameter piston, three way

adjusted with one-way rebound and two-way compression. The rear damper is a Twin Tube TTX44 with a 44 mm piston and it’s four-way adjusted. Both front and rear are fully pressure balanced, eliminating the risk of cavitation and due to low gas pressure they keep the internal friction low.

8 ROAD AND TRACK DAMPERS TPX/TTX

Öhlins Road & Track is designed to improve the performance and comfort of your car. What sets Road & Track apart is the Dual Flow Valve Technology (DFV) which derived straight from the race track. As a result this kit off ers excellent body control, superior road holding and comfort for road cars without compromising track performance. The dampers are single adjustable in both compression and rebound, which allows for quick and easy adjustments that are both precise and wide ranging.
