ket for global banking technology suppliers. Several domestic companies have become increasingly active in the domes- tic as well as global market, competing with traditional banking technology giants such as Infosys and TCS among others. Recognising this, we have introduced an Indian Domestic IBS SLT for the first time, to highlight systems and players who have performed well.

TCS Bancs tops the Indian domestic league table with eight deals. All these related to retail banking solutions for smaller co-operative banks in the country. There is evidently a strategic focus towards targeting smaller banks domestically, while focusing on medium to large banks globally, as demonstrated by its 18 global deals in 2016. TrustBankCBS is the runner up in the Indian league table with seven deals, across smaller regional players in the country. TrustBank also won six global deals, with the company focusing heavily on the developing markets of Asia and Africa.

There were 21 conventional back office systems deals and one digital banking deal in Russia in 2016, down from the 37 reported in 2015. More than 50% of the conventional back office deals were in the Universal Banking category, while the bulk of the rest were lending system deals.

Diasoft tops the Russian domestic SLT in 2017 after spending three years in the runner-up position. It reported 12 deals in 2016, up from 10 in the previous year. It also laid claim to two global deals during the year in Indonesia and Vietnam. Inversia’s Bank 21 Century system, which topped the Russian league table last year, dropped down to second place, with six domestic deals (compared to 11 in 2015). Clients acquired in 2016 include Taganrogbank and Sukhumbank. Four of the deals were in the universal banking space, with the other two falling under the lending category.ProgramBank and BIS both witnessed a decline in Russian activity in 2016, with two deals each. While Confidence Bank and Interprom bank were the two customers for QBIS, ProgramBank. CBS was selected by Global Exchange for its Universal Banking offering.
