MORRIS NATHANSON: INSPIRED DESIGNER, IMPASSIONED PRINT MAKER

by Rob Mariani, Assistant Editor/Writer

After over 50 years as an award-winning Interior Designer, and an avid developer of his home town Pawtucket’s Arts Community, Morris Nathanson is returning to one of his early creative interests: Print Making.

A life-long advocate for his hometown, Pawtucket, Nathanson has designed some of the sets for Trinity Rep Theatre in its early years. More recently he’s done design work for Mixed Magic Theatre. The majority of Nathanson’s creative design work has been on the international stage with his work as designer for restaurants and hospitality venues here and abroad. He was the art director and designer of the restaurants in France’s Disney World, as well as for numerous high profile restaurants in Manhattan. Nathanson’s design mastery was also employed on The Royal Caribbean Cruise Line ships.

Locally you’ll see his work in such high profile restaurants as The Capital Grille, Hemenway’s and the national Legal Seafoods chain. In addition to his commercial work, Nathanson is also a respected painter and an exhibiting member of the Providence Art Club.
