An arm of the McGinley Travel Group is offering a number of cruise departures this coming year, with coach departures to Dublin, and indeed Cobh (Cork) from Belfast.

Said James McGinley, Managing Director of the company, which comprises the brands of JMG Cruise and JMG Travel: "We are the local agent for Cruise and Maritime cruise line and their ships, and we have more than doubled the number of options departing from Dublin and Cobh in 2018. "Because of the demand in Ireland we have vastly increased the number of places on board Cruise and Maritime ships in the months ahead.

St Lawrence cruise

EUROPE’S largest river cruise operator, CroisiEurope, is introducing its first-ever Canada cruise on the mighty St Lawrence River and Lake Ontario, exploring Canada’s earliest European settlements and taking in the spectacular scenery of the Thousand Islands and the majestic Niagara Falls.

This unique 10-day cruise from Quebec to Toronto aboard the MS Jacques Cartier takes guests to Trois-Rivières, Montreal, Ottawa, The Thousand Islands, Prince Edward County and Kingston with optional excursions to Niagara Falls, Niagara-on-the-Lake, the CN Tower in Toronto and an authentic sugar shack on a maple farm.

"We know there is a very strong cruise market out of Northern Ireland and have been monitoring the market in the Province very closely. That is why we have taken the decision to offer Belfast coach pickups to connect with the ships departing from Dublin and Cork."

The McGinley Travel Group describes itself as "Ireland's Group Travel Specialists".

Among the cruises with Dublin departures this coming year is an Iceland and Northern Isles 12- night cruise on board the Magellan, leaving Dublin on Monday, July 2.

Currently there is a price offer of an twin inner front cabin from 1,939 Euro on this option.Magellan also departs Dublin on Saturday, July 14, for a nine- night 'Fjordland Splendour' cruise up the west coast of Norway.

Other cruises onboard Magellan are 'Summer Gardens & River Seine Experience', a seven-night cruise departing Dublin on Monday, July 23, while Magellan takes in 'Spain, Portugal & Gibraltar' , a 12-night cruise departing Dublin on Mon, July 30. The Magellan will also be sailing to 'Canary Islands & Madeira', 'British Isles Discovery' and 'Baltic Cities & St Petersburg' in August. The ship has also scheduled cruises in September and October from Cobh (Cork).

JMG Cruise say their ships offer a more traditional and leisurely style cruising experience with smaller sized cruise ships accessible to more ports of call, with an excellent standard of friendly and attentive service. Sterling is the currency on board the Magellan, Marco Polo and Astoria. JMG Cruise says it offers a choice of eight convenient UK and Ireland departure ports including Dublin, with a wide choice of great excursions at most ports of call.
