Objective of 40µg.m³. It is highly unlikely that the short-term construction operations would cause the annual mean relevant air quality objective to be exceeded within the vicinity of the proposed East Anglia THREE project. This is described further within the chapter. The risk of dust impacts on ecological sites, human health and dust settling are high but with appropriate mitigation measures, as would be outlined in the CoCP, the overall impact would be not significant.

73.

The final ES and DCO application will be updated with latest local authority data sets should these become available in time for the submission.

74. Onshore operational phase impacts were scoped out of the assessment, as agreed in the Scoping Opinion, and therefore they have not been considered. It is anticipated that the impacts during decommissioning would be similar to those identified for construction although these are likely to be of lower magnitude.

75.

Given that the three proposed East Anglia Offshore Wind projects will not overlap in terms of onshore construction periods there will be no pathway for cumulative impacts between them.

30.3.3 Chapter 21 Water Resources and Flood Risk 76.

The data and primary analysis make use of the work undertaken by the proposed East Anglia ONE project. The assessment required consideration of the soils, geology and ground condition assessment.

77.

Two statutory designated sites, the Deben Estuary Ramsar, SPA and SSSI and Suffolk Coast and Heaths AONB, are crossed by the onshore electrical transmission works and are likely to be affected directly or indirectly by the construction activities. Under both scenarios, the Deben Estuary, Martlesham Creek and wetland areas of the AONB will be crossed using horizontal directional drilling (HDD) techniques which will avoid direct impact upon the designated areas prior to cable installation therefore there will be no impact.

78. Only one non-statutory designated site lies within the study area but due to its distance from the onshore electrical transmission works, no impact is anticipated from the construction activities.

79.

Confirmation is being sought by the Suffolk Coastal District Council as to the location of any unlicensed private water supply abstractions within the landfall area. This information will be used to update the impact assessment as part of the final ES and DCO application.
