EC invests in a new Mirtec MV-7Xi in line AOI system for its Romanian factory

To meet our requirements we selected the Mirtec MV- 7Xi which has proven to be highly reliable and efficient in achieving our objectives and we are very happy with its performance.”


We needed a system that not only allows us to speedily detect and repair defects and collect data for yield improvements, but is flexible enough to be used anywhere in the line with minimal programming change. We also required a system that delivered the right balance between optical and digital magnification and image acquisition speed. Lighting is critical to achieving desired results, therefore we wanted a system that allows us to configure light arrays that are highly customizable within the inspection software. To cope with decreasing component size, the system had to be sufficiently accurate to detect the smallest deviations in component placement. An added bonus is the simultaneous inspection of a PCBA while transmitting results from the previous assembly to a review workstation.

On 21st May 2015 this year’s Inspire Business Awards were launched from the tasting room at Berry Brothers & Rudd wine merchants in Basingstoke. The awards are intended to be a showcase for business excellence in North Hampshire and seek to recognise outstanding performance and achievement in the SME sector.


Fresh from winning the coveted Business of the Year Award in 2014, EC Electronics are proud to take on the role of sponsor this year for a brand new award category – Manufacturing Business of the Year.


We hope that this new specialist category will inspire a whole new group of SMEs to enter the awards and prove how successful and important manufacturing is to our economy and to our business community.
