next for the book. As we point out in our round-up of Bologna events, augmented and virtual realit just may (finally) be the next big thing. Bologna has all the hard negotiations and tough deal-making of other rights-trading fairs, but it always seems a bit more celebratory about the book. It helps that there is a plethora of prizes, but also that BCBF does a good job of puting illustrators front and centre—it just looks beter than most fairs. We try to shine a light on the creators in this special supple- ment, too, with Fiona Noble’s run-down of the best upcoming children’s titles, and a profile of author Fiona Wat, the UK and Usborne secret superstar.
