Garmin’s GTN 650/750 touch-screen GPS/NAV/ COMM series has been designed and tailored to

helicopter operators and their unique operations. The GTN provides a vivid display complete with detailed mapping capabilities, as well as three databases (obstacle, terrain and navigation) tailored to helicopter operations. Built-in WAAS/SBAS technology uses        vertical glidepath approaches into non-ILS equipped runways and heliports.

The GTN series for helicopters incorporates the Garmin HTAWS system that provides visual and aural forward-looking terrain and obstacle avoidance (FLTA) alerts. Unique to Garmin’s HTAWS, normal and reduced

protection modes are provided, minimizing nuisance alerts while continuing to provide protection from terrain and obstacles. In addition to terrain and obstacle alerting, Garmin’s HTAWS system features voice callouts, which audibly announce height above          terrain scale, helicopter operators are provided with optimal situational awareness in a single avionics solution.
