MINIBEAST HUNT

Minibeasts are everywhere, even in the smallest outdoor space. Here are some ideas for how and where to fi nd them:

• Worms: add water to a grassed area and stamp your feet to bring them to the surface.

• Woodlice, beetles, centipedes and earwigs: look under stones, in dead wood or damp areas.

• Slugs and snails: these creatures also love damp areas, great for when it’s been raining.

• Bees, butterfl ies and ladybirds: fi nd these on or around plants, fl owers and shrubs.

• Spiders: try exploring early in the morning when their webs will be covered with dew.
