Pipeline Coating 2017 | event preview

Shawcor Pipeline Performance in Italy will present a case study examination of an integrated thermal management solution for an onshore pipeline. Pascal Collett, Business Contractor at RKT International in the Netherlands, will detail a new approach for pipeline protection during construction work. The materials and technology theme continues into

Day Two of the conference, which opens with a presen- tation detailing a new 3LPE coating solution by SABIC Netherlands Senior Engineer MDTS Ralph Handstanger and Laurent Quillet, Development Manager at Arkema in France. Dr Andrés Nohales, R&D Chemical Materials

Development Manager at Ube Corporation in Spain will discuss preparation of new unfilled polycarbonate diol-based polyurethanes for internal coating applica- tions while the latest developments in pipeline coating technology will be explained in a joint presentation by Dr Victor Belousov, Product Development Specialist at 3M Russia, and Claudiu Ionescu, Customer Solutions Engineer at Winoa in France. In the first of three presentations focused on special

applications Laurent Grodziski, Offshore Project Director at Danish company Logstor, will talk about the application of moulded polymer alloys in end-to-end thermal insulation systems for deepwater pipelines. He will be followed by Dr Volker Börschel, Global Segment Manager Functional at Akzo Nobel Powder Coatings in Germany, who will detail some new developments for low application FBE technology (LAT) with preheating temperatures of 160°C for field joint coating segments. The special applications session will be closed by

Chancal Dasgupta, Application Marketing Manager (Pipe) at Borouge in India, who will explain how 3LPE coating systems are being used in larger diameter water transportation systems. The final session of the conference focuses on

protection options for pipelines exposed to the harshest operational and environmental conditions. Dustin Taylor, Technical Service Engineer at Axalta Coating Systems in the US, will present some new develop- ments in high temperature internal FBE pipe coatings. Armughan Qaiser, an Engineer with China-based Icoatek (Shanghai) Anti-Corrosion Technology, will provide insight into coating selection for pipelines operation in the harshest conditions. Pipeline protection using multi-component liquid

polyurea coating systems will be detailed by Rainer Kuprion, Director Business Unit Coating Systems at TIB Chemicals in Germany, while the conference will be brought to a close with an examination of fast curing composites for HDD field joints by Grzegorz Major, Engineering Project Manager at NRI in Poland.
