Profile: Oxxo was founded in 1923 as a producer of joinery products. Much later – in the 1980s – it began making PVC window profiles, and became one of France’s leading producers. The company has 10 distribution centres across France. In 2013, it was bought by the giant Cevital Group of Algeria – one of North Africa’s largest companies. Cevital has now expanded its portfolio – which, among other things, included flat glass -- by moving directly into PVC window production in Algeria.
Product lines: Oxxo has three main product lines, with its Solstice, Eclipse and Lintea brands of window profile – which are sold across France and internationally. The company has a large research and development department to help it develop new products.
Factory locations: The company has factories in two countries: France and Algeria. The French plant, in Cluny in southern France, has an annual capacity of around 150,000 window frames. The company’s new production plant, in Bordj Bou Arreridj, near Algiers, recently took delivery of 23 twin screw extruders from KraussMaffei Berstorff – which form the basis of 19 window profile extrusion lines. The company says that the new plant – which is due to open by the end of this year – will have an annual capacity of 720,000 window frames.
