Flushed with success Gneuss presented a number of modified filtration systems at K2016, focusing on self-cleaning (or backflushing).

The highlight, says the company, was its RSFgenius 330 – the second largest filtration system in its range. The patented RSFgenius system operates automati- cally, and includes a highly efficient back-flushing system. The range is suitable for demanding applica- tions with high quality requirements, says Gneuss. It also exhibited an RSFgenius 175, together with a

At K2016, Fimic also presented a third filter model

following eight years of research. Its NET filters will use a metal mesh that filters continuously without any stop – and with no need to modify the extruder. The NET filter is a belt solution, and is generally used when material is not highly contaminated – other- wise the cost of the mesh would be too high – or when there is a high level of aluminium, to allow an automatic change of the belt. The belt is supported by a rotating drum, which rolls

automatically when a set pressure is reached or slowly rolls continuously to allow a continuous change. This is done without the need for accumulators or pistons, whih could cause material degradation or generate gas. There is no need to modify the extruder software, as the NET is installed at the end of the line and does not cause any modification to the process.

process-constant automatic filtration system SFXmag- nus 150 and SFXmagnus 90 R with integrated back- flushing. The SFXmagnus range of automatic screen changers is characterised by a large active area in a compact unit. This range of screen changers is available with or without an integrated back-flushing piston, depending on the requirements of the process. Both RSFgenius and SFXmagnus ranges have been

revised during 2016. Modifications to the screen changer housings permit operation on a wider range of applications at higher pressures, while offering enlarged active filtration areas. Components and modules are shared between the

two ranges in order to boost value for money and reduce delivery lead times.
