NEWS Peter Aerts to Coenegrachts

In June this year, Peter Aerts joined Coenegrachts Substraat in Riemst, Belgium as commer- cial manager/plant manager. Aerts started his career 15 years ago at compost supplier Sterckx, where he gained experience at the Sterckx farm in Stekene and working in the compost tunnels. After two and a half years he started working at C point (now DLV mushrooms) as an advisor. This was followed two and a half years later by a switch to spawn producer Amycel in the Nether-

lands, where he was responsible for Amycel sales in Europe and the Middle East. September 2013 would have marked ten years of service at the company. According to Aerts it was high time for a new challenge. “I have greater responsibilities at Coe- negrachts, and the internal and external communication lines are shorter and the actions more direct. You are in direct contact with the client who actually makes the decisions. Plus my tasks are more varied; planning,

Henry Breukers to Amycel

On 1 October 2013, Henry Breukers joined Amycel as sales manager. During his career, Henry worked as a product manager at CNC and Theeuwen (now Walkro) and has been a ma- nager at one of the production facilities of Heveco. In between, Breukers has worked as a business expert at DLV (now DLV Plant Mushrooms). The last 14 years he has worked as an account manager at CNC com- modities BV. “The step to Amycel is a new challenge for me in a new aspect of the mushroom busi- ness. The spawn production and breeding varieties are for me new and very interesting topics. Especially the bond with the mushroom production of Monterey mushrooms in the

U.S. is important. They know what it’s about. A company that has a comprehensive research program running to renew permanent technical issues and production levels to stay ahead is important to me. Creating new strains and innovations like Onyxx are a must” says Breukers.

As a sales manager within Amy- cel he is primarily responsible for the sales of Amycel spawn and Promycel supplement in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

management, maintaining all the contacts.” Coengrachts Substraat, owned by Bart Coenegrachts and Sjaak van Kessel, is a relatively small producer of compost and supplies 800 tons of phase III compost per week. Phase I faci- lities have recently been added, giving the company a phase I capacity of 4000 tons per week. More on Coenegrachts next time in Mushroom Business.◗
