World-renowned sitarist and composer Anoushka Shankar is deeply rooted in Indian classical music through her father, the legendary Ravi Shankar, but she has also explored the crossover between Indian music and a variety of genres, including flamenco, electronica, jazz and western classical music.

Following sold-out screenings in January and April, George’s Morrison’s 1959 classic documentary returns to the National Concert Hall by popular demand. The film will be presented on the big screen while Ó Riada’s iconic score is performed live by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra.

South African guitarist Derek Gripper performs an exciting programme of works by kora virtuosos Toumani Diabaté, Ballaké Sissoko and Amadu Bansang Jobarteh. This concert also features duos with Irish guitarist Redmond O’Toole and interpretations of works by J.S. Bach, Egberto Gismonti and South African bow master Madosini.
