NEWS INDUSTRY UPDATE Industry Update SYLKA Builds on Middle Eastern Success

Luxury carpet and rug producer SYLKA has taken another significant step in expanding its influence in the Middle East with a special shipment to Dubai.

A lorry packed with the company’s range of luxurious faux silk carpets has set off for Dubai carrying a consignment to SYLKA’s new showroom and production facility, due to open this October.

Also on board were SYLKA carpets for two major projects for leading luxury retailers in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The enhanced presence in Dubai builds on the success of the company’s office at 208 Gold and Diamond Park, Sheikh Zayed Road, which opened early in 2014.

This success in the region has led SYLKA to become a popular brand amongst interior designer’s private, retail and commercial clients in the Middle East. And this year the company won the prestigious title of National Brand of the United Arab Emirates at the Luxury Lifestyle Awards.

SYLKA’s Managing Director and founder, Steve Farrell said: “We have had a fantastic year and the opening of our new premises in Dubai highlights the strength of demand for our carpets and rugs.

“We predicted at the start of the year that SYLKA would go global in 2015 and that is exactly what has happened as clients around the world recognise the value of a carpet that delivers both the luxury look and feel of silk and outstanding durability.”

SYLKA’s properties as a hardwearing, easy-to-clean alternative to natural fibres such as silk and bamboo have made it an extremely popular choice with high-end retailers, corporate organisations and super yacht designers.

“I only hope that 2016 holds as much success as this year and I look forward to seeing where Sylka will grow next,” added Steve.
