The system can grow with the business so if a retailer wants to open up a new store, the process is very simple with one single database.


For many independents the issue they have is much of their cash is tied up in their stock. So if they can create efficiencies with their stock the leaner and healthier their business will be. Cloud systems help retailers be more scientific with their stock purchasing and analysis so the stock turn is quicker leading to a healthier cash flow. Ordering is also more accurate meaning they have to mark down less stock so they are able to sell more lines at full margin. What’s more, retailers can make savings in other ways, such as identifying the best opening times for a store based on sales patterns, as well as when additional staff will be needed.

Perhaps the most important aspect of cloud solutions is that they provide a single product and customer database This means the business (store[s] and website) share this centralised set of records so it is simple to track and see sales and stock levels online and in-store.


Such systems can also automatically raise purchase orders for retailers if they use the minimum and maximum stock level facility. Once an item goes below the minimum stock level a purchase order is raised – which alerts the business so they can choose whether to sign it off and send to the supplier. Indeed once retailers have used the system for a while, there is a stock algorithm that calculates what level of stock a retailer needs to carry and what they will need to order.


So by embracing the latest technology, flooring retailers can stay one step ahead to better serve the needs of the consumer and ensure they are ready for any changes in the industry.
