SAFETY RIBBON AWARD HOSKING ASSOCIATES

The team of experts at Hosking Associates understands keeping up to date with health and safety regulations, as well as complying with the latest standards such as OSHAS 18001 and HSG65, is no easy task for businesses. To address these issues, Hosking Associates launched its Safety Ribbon Award scheme to help organisations prioritise health and safety management and take the first steps toward compliance.

The Safety Ribbon award is first and foremost an audit tool to benchmark an organisation’s current compliance level against health & safety law, and to fulfil the annual review requirement of HSG65.

To earn an award, Hosking Associates works closely with organisations, assessing them against a broad set of criteria in line with HSE’s recommended ‘PLAN, DO, CHECK, ACT’ model, which ensures buy-in, support and direction from the management team. Each company is then given an audit report, action plan and overall score which serves as a benchmark for improvement.

Companies who score 85% or above are awarded the Safety Ribbon Award and may use the award logo for a year to demonstrate to staff, clients, visitors, and the business community that a high standard of safety management is being practised every day.

Louise Hosking, Managing Director at Hosking Associates, said: “When we set out to develop and launch our health and safety benchmarking award, we really wanted to ensure we had a substantial offering - covering all areas. Achieving the Safety Ribbon Award is no easy task. A company has to really prove its proactivity in health and safety management to earn it.”

SBES LIFESAVER SBES

SBES LifeSaver is a fast, accurate way of summoning help to the location of a man down incident. The lone worker protection system is completely scalable, from a single user to over 1000 users and is suitable for both partial and whole site coverage.

The SBES lifesaver system can be provided as an ATEX/Ex Certified system if required. In the event of an alarm being raised, there are multiple options available for alerting your emergency response personnel.

The most common means of alert messaging are using the SBES Control Panel which clearly displays the alarm alert message upon a large LCD display, and the SBES Radio Pagers which displays the alarm alert on alpha numeric radio pagers.

SMS Text Messages and Speech Messages can also be used with the telecom modules programmed with up to 10 telephone numbers of your choice. Upon alarm activation the system will automatically dial the programmed numbers and relay the alarm message to your recipients. Finally Beacon Sounders can be used to activate as soon as the alarm alert is raised.

Emergency Help points and Disabled Toilet Alarms can be incorporated into the SBES Lifesaver system.
