The development process was a truly collaborative approach, drawing on Dr. Martens heritage and our expertise combined with the knowledge we gained from customer feedback and research.
DM’s Lite continues to uphold the Dr. Martens legacy, conforming to SATRA safety specifications and having endured extensive wear- trials to ensure we deliver. Strategic planning to carefully consider the practical needs and typical tasks the wearers would perform was crucial in the preliminary process. We looked at a variety of working environments and built the range to protect workers from a number of potential hazards including slippery, static-prone floorings or unseen, sharp objects underfoot. The entire range meets the EN ISO 20345:2011 safety specifications and each style has a composite toe cap, a flexible puncture-resistant midsole and a Nitrile rubber outsole that provides exceptional heat and slip resistance. The comfort factor is delivered by the new SoftWair sock-liner that enhances internal comfort using memory-foam pods in the heel

and fore-foot areas. The result is a comfortable range of lightweight footwear that ensures protection and keeps feet happy. Everyone benefits from the features engineered into the DM’s Lite Calamus, Corvid and Linnet styles.
The range with its true, athletic- inspired features and benefits with absolutely no compromise on protection, is leaps and bounds ahead of the current market offering. However, in true Dr. Martens form,
we are forever looking to develop and improve our products. We have already committed to new designs for 2017 and I am currently in the US exploring new materials and work settings to ensure we keep pushing boundaries.
