Welcome to the March issue of Tomorrow’s Flooring.

We all know that interior design and colours can have a huge impact on our emotions and wellbeing. As flooring takes up a great deal of surface space, it is obviously one of the most important aspects to consider in any design brief.

In the magazine this month we feature an iconic airport carpet, which has got people’s emotions running high. The teal green, 80s retro flooring has been covered by the world media, from the Wall Street Journal to the Guardian and now Tomorrow’s Flooring. With a strong social media presence, this is probably the most famous carpet in the world right now. Sadly the carpet has been replaced leaving its legion of fans to lament.

Not only can floorcoverings invoke an emotional response, but they can also influence child development and have a bearing on learning ability, and behaviour. Check out Sharni Verity’s article on how fibre bonded carpet from Heckmondwike FB is being used to create bright, engaging zones in schools.
