COVER STORY LOOKING BRIGHT IN

THE SUNSHINE STATE Eastbrooke Gardens is a 45,000ft2 assisted living facility that specialises in memory care. Matthew Neil of the Orlando Buckeye Cleaning Centre, met with Maintenance Director, Jamie Curtis, who was using several costly, ready-to-use products. Curtis became interested in Buckeye dilutable products to meter their product usage and save money, which also led to additional Buckeye programmes.

Curtis and his staff had been using ready-to-use products until Neil introduced them to the Eco® Proportioning Programme. Curtis agreed to a trial with the Eco Pro proportioning unit and Eco Glass Cleaner HD E12, Eco Hydrogen Peroxide Cleaner E15, Eco Neutral Disinfectant E23, and Eco Floor Cleaner E32. He liked its ease of use, the value of the concentrated products, and longevity of the product bags, and made the switch. Curtis especially likes the effectiveness of Eco Floor Cleaner E32 as it cleans without leaving any sticky residue behind.

Neil and Curtis did a facility walk- through to evaluate his floor care needs. The floor finish Curtis had been using yellowed and was full of embedded dirt. Neil performed a full- scale floor demonstration with Clarion® 25 Floor Finish and RipSaw™ Floor Stripper in one of the resident rooms with excellent results. Curtis was impressed and stripped and finished the entire facility, including resident rooms, hallways, and the cafeteria.

Alongside this, Curtis’ previous hand soap didn’t last long and it was expensive. Additionally, the dispensers were bulky and boxy. He agreed to test Symmetry Green Certified Foaming Hand Wash in one of the resident rooms. Neil dated the Symmetry product bag so they could determine its longevity, and found that Symmetry lasted much longer than the other product, and Neil used the Symmetry Cost Comparison Calculator to show Curtis significant savings. Now Curtis uses both Symmetry Green Certified Foaming Hand Wash and Symmetry Non-Alcohol Foaming Hand Sanitiser throughout the facility.

Neil also helped Curtis with odour control at his facility. He and his staff use Scenturion™ Odour Counteractant in resident rooms on beds, chairs and upholstery, and on restroom floors. The entire facility is much cleaner and healthier since implementing Buckeye programmes, and Curtis’ labour and product costs are lower too.

integrity and innovation – and alongside this, it works hard to provide environmentally friendly and sustainable products. With that in mind, Buckeye’s Symmetry Green Certified Foaming Hand Wash was a perfect fit. The hand wash’s green seal approval means that it has been third party accredited to be sustainable for the environment – this covers everything from the way that Buckeye manufacture it to the materials used both inside the product and in its packaging.

“When you make

an effort to get your facility to look the

best it can, the whole staff wants to help keep it that way.”

Innovation Supplies installed the Green Certified Foaming Hand Wash at the University of Hull, alongside Buckeye’s range of Symmetry dispensers as part of its full Symmetry Hand Hygiene programme. The dispensers were free of charge, and can be fully customised to the client’s specific needs, meaning that the University was able to tell Innovation Supplies exactly what colour scheme and imagery they wanted on the dispensers, and Buckeye were able to design and manufacture them in house at their US base at no additional cost.

And the University is made up with its new range of fully customised dispensers, as a spokesperson from the school said: “We changed to Symmetry for a clean, simple and cost effective hand washing system.

“The product is fresh, non-drip and our students and staff love it.”
