PRODUCT CARE: CROCKERY,CUTLERY & GLASSWARE
CROCKERY CARE
The most common problems with crockery are breakage and metal marking. The following suggestions may help to prevent these issues occurring, and improve the appearance and lifespan of your crockery:
• The safest way to remove food remnants is to use a paper towel or non-metallic scraper. Do not remove food remnants by knocking items against sink (risk of breakage) or scraping with metal utensils (risk of metal marking).
• Wash all items as soon as possible after use to prevent staining. We advise washing crockery separately from other articles such as cutlery and saucepans to prevent breakage and metal marking. Abrasive cleaners and scourers can harm the glaze and surface decoration of crockery, so should be avoided.
• Only stack items that have been specifically designed to stack.
CUTLERY CARE
Prolonged contact with common corrosive substances such as detergents, salt, vinegar, lemon juice, fats and meat juices can damage cutlery. To extend the life of your cutlery:
• Wash cutlery in warm soapy water as soon as possible after use.
• Never leave dirty cutlery to soak and always dry cutlery immediately after washing with a clean, dry cloth.
• Do not leave cutlery overnight to cool down in the dishwasher, or to drip dry. Residues can settle and begin corroding the cutlery.
GLASSWARE CARE
The following suggestions have been written as a guideline to enhance the appearance and prolong the lifespan of your glassware:
• Pick up glasses separately and limit the contact between glasses to a minimum to avoid scratching.
• Immediately discard any glasses that are cracked, chipped or broken.
• Only stack glasses that have been specifically designed to stack.
• Avoid contact with beer taps, pumps and bottles.
• Warm glasses designed for hot drinks under the hot tap before filling with hot liquid.
• Never fill warm or hot glasses with cold water.
Although items have been designed for use in commercial glasswashers, care must nevertheless be taken in order to preserve the lifespan of your glassware:
• Wash new glassware products before their first use.
• Take care to use the appropriate detergent and dosage. Failure to do so may result in damage to the appearance and function of your glass.
• Wash glass separately from crockery and cutlery items.
• Coffee and cream-based drinks can stain glass. Always ensure that coffee cups, milkshake glasses etc are washed separately.

• Do not use ‘rinse and hold’ dishwasher cycles with cutlery.
• Wash stainless steel and silver plated cutlery separately to avoid damaging the silver plate.
• Lack of correct care can cause cutlery to become rusty or tarnished. Should any rust or tarnish appear, it can easily be removed with a stainless steel polish such as PEEK, after which the cutlery should be washed in mild soapy water before use.
• To avoid metal marking, limit the contact between crockery and metal wherever possible. Ensure crockery is not stored directly on top of metal shelves and surfaces by using plastic or rubber mats.
Although items have been designed for use in commercial dishwashers, care must nevertheless be taken in order to preserve the lifespan of your crockery:
• Use an approved detergent in the dosage outlined by the dishwasher manufacturer. Excess detergent can deteriorate the glaze and cause dullness.
• Rack crockery items carefully and stack separately from other products such as cutlery and glass.
• Always follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for dishwashing temperatures. Excessively high temperatures can be detrimental to glaze and decoration.
