Lowther News Don’t give burglars a chance
WE have had reports of thefts at some developments. You can help us keep burglaries to a minimum by remembering a few simple tips: • Always close the main door to your block of flats. Most of our blocks have secure entry doors. Don’t be tempted to leave the door open – everyone who should have access will have a key • Valuables – don’t leave your valuables
on show, especially in your car. If you need to leave anything valuable in your car, lock it away in the boot or glove compartment, out of sight. If you see anything suspicious, contact the Police - just call 101 for non- emergencies. If you have any problems with your secure entry doors, just contact your letting agent so we can arrange to get it repaired for you.

A room with a view
BRIAN and Alan Cowan were the very first people to move into Lowther’s stunning new apartments in Yoker, but they weren’t alone for long. All 46 of the properties were snapped up within one month of initial viewings. The new one and two-bedroom apartments at Ellerslie Path, built in partnership with Cube Housing Association, offer stunning views over the River Clyde as well as fantastic value for money. New tenants are benefitting from rents
starting at £430 for a one-bedroom property and £510 for a two-bedroom property – as well as fitted floor coverings, blinds and fully fitted kitchens and bathrooms. Brian and Alan didn’t have to move far for their new flat. They’ve left behind a private let in a similar building, just metres down the street.
And it seems they’re settling in well. Digital marketing manager Brian, 33, said: “We love this location, but were worried that our landlord could sell the flat at any time and knew we could probably save money by moving.
“As soon as we heard about the Lowther flats, and the rents on offer, we applied immediately. It was the ideal chance to stay in the area but get far better value for money.”
Brian’s partner Alan said: “Both of us
have always rented from private rather than commercial landlords so moving to Lowther was a bit of a change, but one we’re delighted with. “We’re saving money on rent each month and, for the first time ever, we have a place that really feels like ours. We’ve been able to put our own stamp on it and make it a home.”
Brian added: “We feel like we’ve found a
perfect middle ground. There are people more in need of social rented housing, and while we can afford to rent privately, some rates are really expensive. “Buying wasn’t an option for us with the
property market still being uncertain. With the amount of space we have – and the amazing views – we’d have to find something really special to be tempted to move anytime soon.”
