Tearaway Tabby is a big hit on facebook
A HOUSEHOLD moggy has become famous on social media due to his kleptomaniac tendencies.
Oscar, a two-year-old tabby cat from Oxgangs, is so notorious for pinching things in his neighbourhood that he now has his own Facebook page and more than 300 Facebook friends. He posts pictures and details of the loot he steals on Facebook so that people can be reunited with their things. Owner Fiona Tait, 39, from Oxgangs said: “I think it’s embarrassing that he steals so much but I do love him. If the Facebook page helps people get their stuff back that’s great.”
Fiona’s partner Andy Bracken, 38, added: “He’s an absolute tearaway and kleptomaniac; he’ll steal anything he can get his paws on. He’s stolen gloves, socks, underwear, kids’ toys and once he pinched some poor Dunedin Canmore workman’s sandwiches!”
Oscar’s tendency to pick up things that don’t belong to him means he spends a fair amount of time collecting litter from Colinton Mains Park. Fiona said: “He recycles a lot of

rubbish; someone said the council should start paying him a wage. A friend got him a mini high-vis jacket for his litter picking outings.” “He’s got fans from all over the world; we’ve had people tell us we should write a book. He just gets up to so much mischief.” You can check out Oscar’s latest finds at his Facebook page www.
