Edisto Beach, a place she calls her second home and heaven on earth. The Edisto Mysteries have become Edisto Island favorites, found in most beach houses and on the nightstands of most residents. Hope appears at the Edisto Bookstore several times a year for signings, and to chat with natives and visitors alike about how Edisto is just a perfect place to be.

The series consists of Murder on Edisto, Edisto Jinx, and Echoes of Edisto. The third book, Echoes of Edisto, is often considered the favorite of Hope’s regular readers with its unexpected twists. Some claim to have cried at the ending. The sequel, Edisto Stranger, is expected in June 2017. All books are available wherever books are sold.

ECHOES OF EDISTO EXCERPT: “Help!” shouted a man she didn’t recognize. Chest deep in the water, he hollered, “The officer slipped under and he’s caught! I can’t get him out!”

Jesus!

Unbuckling her utility belt, Callie dropped it to the ground, kicked off her shoes and leaped off the road bank into the marsh. She swam to the driver’s side and tried to stand, water almost up to her neck. Sarah huddled outside the car, a couple yards away, muddy, and scared. Callie spit out a mouthful of the brown, salty water. “Where’s Francis?”

“Follow me.” The civilian dove, Callie close behind.

She felt Francis floundering and pushing against the car before she saw him blurred in the stirred up muck. His legs had slid beneath the Volvo, probably as he tried to gain purchase, and the one-ton car had rocked back, entrapping him. Callie’s feet sank into at least a foot or more of the sulphur-smelling pluff so renowned to the barrier islands. She and the civilian struggled to lift the car, finally finding the rhythm to function in tandem.
