making these small comfort pillows to give away to anybody and everybody we heard of that was going thru Breast Cancer treatment, surgery. As I began to tell Mott of our pillow ministry, (I am a member of both groups) Mott said let's create a partnership, where you G.A.L.S continue to cut, sew and stuff the pillows, but let the Edisto Belles furnish the fabric and stuffing for them. Another JBC Mission Group "The Mabryc Tuten Group" also joined the G.A.L.S. in helping make pillows. Last year we gave away 1001 pillows, to various Dr.'s offices, hospitals, surgical centers, prosthesis shop, and to individuals. To date this year, 2017 we have already supplied 601 pillows, which means they will exceed last years amount.

These pillows are used to put under the patients arm to act as a shock absorber, in just the right position at night while you're sleeping, or protect you and provide padding from the seat belt. We receive many, many notes, saying "You will never know how much this special pillow has meant to me, it has come in so handy, and I have been "wearing" it for weeks on end." Or "Who would have ever thought a pillow could become my best buddy in such a time of need." People we have found a niche and we are following through and acting on it.

Many of our pillows are delivered because people just like you, pass on by word of mouth, and request these pillows any time you know of someone going through Breast Cancer and we would encourage and ask you to continue to let us know of anyone who is in need of this extra little bit of comfort. You may pick it up for a friend or have us mail it to them, we write a note and offer our support and contact information, but do not infringe on their space.

We have also, bought wigs, groceries, mammograms, transportation along with the hundreds of pillows we have distributed. You will also find that The Edisto Belles try to focus on Breast Health, Early Detection, and regular Mammograms. We also are often found laughing the loudest, crying the hardest, and cherishing each day, because as survivors we are thankful for each day God has given us. We hope that in the near future a cure will be found, but until then we contribute annually to Breast Cancer Research. You'll find us on the Edisto Belles Christmas float, having absolutely the most fun of anyone in the whole parade.
