Lucinda Lamont joined The Business Magazine in 2017 as Solent business manager to strengthen relationships with key clients and sponsors, and grow the presence of the Solent & South Coast edition of the magazine and the awards campaigns within the region. She brings a wealth of experience in winning new business but more importantly, retaining the clients she deals with. She has a nine-year background in developing client relations and does so with a great amount of care and diligence.


BDO LLP continues to expand its tax capability in the Thames Valley with the arrival of Carole Le Page as a corporate tax director in the firm’s Reading office. Le Page joins after spending 18 years at PwC and EY, with experience in areas of tax including UK and international structuring, compliance and risk management, tax strategy, tax efficient supply chain management, M&A related issues, partnership taxation and employee incentives.


Duncan Lamb joins BDO as a corporate finance partner leading the M&A team in the south. He has over 20 years experience of completing mid-market deals and has been based in the Thames Valley for the past 19 years, where he is regarded as being one of the most active advisers in the region. Lamb has spent the past 10 years building an outstanding reputation for focusing on technology and specialist engineering deals, with many of his transactions being private-equity based.


Basingstoke-based Reality HR is making a strong start to 2017 with the appointment of Carrie-Ann Jones as a new HR adviser. This appointment will bring the total number of employees at the HR consultancy to 14 and the company now provides outsourced HR services to around 100 SMEs across the south. Jones, from Tadley, near Basingstoke, brings more than 10 years’ industry experience to Reality HR gained from working as an HR adviser.


Lead generation agency Xcel Sales has appointed serial entrepreneur and business growth specialist Kevin Gaskell as its new chairman. Gaskell brings with him a hugely successful track record of leading some of the world’s most prestigious brands as well as helping growing companies to scale rapidly. Gaskell has previously led a number of iconic brands, including Porsche, Lamborghini and BMW.


Commercial litigator and partner Claire Holford has joined Thames Valley law firm Harrison Clark Rickerbys, bringing experience of disputes in the UK and Australia to the team. Holford’s work in Brisbane followed her work in London, advising on development, professional negligence and complex contractual issues, and enables her to practice both in both countries with equal ease.


Local estate and letting agent Davis Tate has announced the appointment of Matthew Bates as its new managing director following the decision by its founder members, Matthew Davis and David Tate, to step down from the position following 25 successful years at the helm. Both, however, will play an active role in the business moving forward.


Gardner Leader has appointed Suki Hardy, an experienced commercial property solicitor, as partner in the firm’s 14-strong corporate and commercial team which has absorbed six of the seven new solicitors recruited in the past 12 months. She becomes the firm’s 15th partner.
