FEW villages boast such a diverse range of retail outlets and an idyllic rural setting in which to shop … but Lenham has it all.
Its beautiful square is the centre-piece for a regular farmers’ market, surrounded by places to spend, eat and drink – most of which are independently owned.
As well as the pubs, the bakery and Chequers fish bar - all very popular places to grab a bite – you can take a little more time at the new Bow Window tearooms, which also opens in the evening for tapas and wine.
The village setting, with a backdrop courtesy of the North Downs, is a great place to explore, with an open door policy at the village church and coffee served on Saturday from 10am to noon.
