Lockyer's Middle School
It has been a time of celebration recently at Lockyer’s Middle School!
Three of our girls, Ella Joyce, Ella Witt and Clare Robinson, have been selected for the Dorset Under 13s girl’s cricket development squad. We’re very proud of the girls who have dedicated a great deal of time and hard work to this.
Year 6 pupil, Thomas Percival-Smith, has had his amazing talent spotted and signed to Yeovil Town as a young goalkeeper. We are really thrilled for Thomas and wish him every success.
Nominated: Alison Shivas
It is not just the pupils that are shining at Lockyer’s Middle School. Our very own Mrs Alison Shivas has been nominated for the Daily Echo School Awards 2017. The anonymous nomination stated: “Mrs Shivas is a force of nature who teaches valuable life skills with humour, direction and a smile on her face.” We are really rooting for her, although she has already made us proud.
Lockyer’s Middle School is also glad to be doing its bit for the environment and, over the coming months, we will be upgrading over 160 light units to greener, more effi cient LED installations. These will also improve the quality of light. Other good news is that Dorset County Council has approved refurbishment of the old youth centre this summer, creating a community space and a classroom for our growing school.
