eing a military child, I feel safe and get to travel around the world which is amazing. However, it is really hard being so far away
from my family. We have been stationed here in Misawa, and lived in California, so this is our second move. Being a military kid is really hard, but so much fun! I also get to learn a lot about the military but also about the world. I love living here in Misawa because I get to experience the Japanese culture and language. Almost every weekend, my family goes out and explores a new area around Misawa. I love getting to go off base with the Lunney Youth Center and also when they bring people on base to share their cultures. My favorite part about Youth Programs is the Sports Club, each week we learn a new game or sport and how to play. Being a military child is not all bad, and can be really fun when you let it.

ne of the best parts of being a military kid is moving and getting to see new places. I love being able to see more of the world. Losing friends
is the hardest part because you are constantly having to make new friends and then losing them again because either they move or you move. I have been stationed in Mississippi and Misawa, so we have moved twice. What everyone should know about being a military kid is that it is hard to let go of friends. Experience has taught me that you are always having to move all the time, and that is really hard. However, being in Misawa I get to enjoy amazing food. The little festivals they have out the gate are always fun and I love going to them. Being at the Lunney Youth Center has changed me a lot because I got to experience and participate in TORCH Club. TORCH helps with the community which is a fun experience. I really enjoy TORCH, and it gave me a chance to try and do new things.

lose them again either because you move or they move. This is our fi rst military move and Misawa is our fi rst base. We lived in Oklahoma before here and that was a big change. I want people to know that being a military kid can be really fun and you get to meet new and great people, but it's also really hard to say good-bye to those people too. I love being stationed in Misawa because the food is amazing! I love Thunder Ramen!!! I really enjoy being a part of the Misawa Teen Center because I have so many options and programs to pick from and I can go up there to hang out with friends. My favorite part is the Sports. I got to try volleyball this year and absolutely love it! Without Youth Programs I may never have known how great volleyball is and how much I love playing it.

ne of the best parts of being a military child is meeting all the new people. It's hard though, because not long after meeting them, you
etting to see different places is my favorite thing about being a military child. Losing friends and crying is the hardest part. We have had to move four times–South Dakota, Guam, Okinawa and Misawa. While making new friends and exploring new bases is a lot of fun, it's really hard to leave new friends, and not be around family. Misawa has amazing people and I love the Japanese culture! The Misawa Teen Center has allowed me to meet and hang out with new people and I have been able to open up more and be myself. The art program and all the opportunities I have to draw is amazing and the best part about the Teen Center.
