Get your license to operate the powerboats at the Base Beach! The minimum age to participate is 18 and you must have a USFJ POV driver’s license or US state license and deployment orders for TDY/


TAD personnel. Private license course appointments are available at $65 per person and are offered based on examiner availability. Discounts do not apply to private courses.


Jet skis, powerboats and pontoon party boats are available for rent starting at noon on Saturday, May 27.


Reservations can be made up to 30 days in advance at the Outdoor Recreation Center. You must be already licensed to schedule a reservation.

The cycling social event of the year is back! Challenge yourself to cycle 50 kilometers around Lake Ogawara on a physically challenging course that starts and ends at Leftwich Park. All riders receive a free t-shirt and BBQ afterward. This event is open to everyone ages 16 and older. Age limit does not apply to passengers in cycle trailers. Cyclists must provide their own bikes.

Enjoy a day at Lake Towada with this kayak tour designed for all skill levels. You’ll learn the basics of sit-on-top kayaks while enjoying a tour of Lake


Towada’s scenic coastline that’s only accessible by boat. We’ll spend about four hours on the lake and make a stop for lunch. This is a moderately physically challenging activity. Basic swimming ability is required for all kayaking programs. This tour includes transportation, kayak instructor/guide, kayak, all required safety equipment and cold water kayak clothing. Lunch is not included.


LADIES ONLY


Located in a remote valley of the Akita Prefecture, Hachikuro is an outdoor "wild spa" with pools of hot mineral-rich water and no facilities. There are no rules on tattoos and swimwear is required. This tour is for ladies only and the minimum age is 16. There must be an accompanying parent for anyone under 18. This trip includes transportation and a tour escort.
