Freight on Inland Waterways
Commercial Boat Operators Association (CBOA) and The Canal & River Trust (CRT) have come together for Multimodal to promote Freight on Inland Waterways. The CBOA are a membership organisation representing com- panies that move freight, operate maintenance vessels and freight facilities on the UK inland waterways. CRT is entrusted with the care of 2,000 miles of waterways in England and Wales. CRT endeav- ours to facilitate freight on their larger water- ways and has a renewed focus on the naviga- tions in the North East that link to the Humber Estuary where there’s the opportunity for these waterways to be used for freight transport.
