Multimodal 2017
Welcome to Multimodal 2017 10th Anniversary Edition
On behalf of the Multimodal team, it gives me the greatest pleasure to welcome you to the 10th Anni- versary Multimodal show.
In these 10 years, we have experienced unprece- dented changes both in our world and our markets. Change has become the new normal.
Yet some things endure – most notably the ability of the transport and logistics market to evolve, drive increased efficiency, and deliver more for less, both faster and greener.
Multimodal also endures and grows. The show is now six times larger than when we launched in 2008!
Multimodal is the only UK and Irish event for the freight and transport sector that embraces all modes of the supply chain; rail, sea/water, road and air as well as warehousing and IT.
It’s here that you’ll be
offered the opportunity to compare suppliers, modes and routes to help you decrease your costs, increase efficiencies and find greener supply chains, as well as being able to keep up to date with current and evolv- ing trends and developments in the free-to-attend seminars and knowledge briefings.
The Multimodal Seminars will cover all modes of the supply chain – and also feature sessions on city logistics, modal shift, free trade zones, outsourcing, Brexit and digital disruption. The seminar programme is included in this guide. To make a reservation, please visit the Multimodal Seminar area.
Building on the success of the FTA Multimodal Awards last year, the event is being jointly organised and expanded to further cater for demand in 2017. The FTA Multimodal Awards are being hosted by cricketer and raconteur David Gower, in what prom- ises to be both an important and enjoyable evening of the celebration of success. In total, twelve awards will be bestowed.
Over 800 guests, including many of the VIPs from Multimodal, will enjoy a networking reception fol- lowed by a three course dinner, with wine and coffees whilst being entertained at the glittering ceremony.
The evening is staged at the jaw-dropping VOX at the NEC at 19.00 on the first day, Tuesday 4th April 2017.
To add an enjoyable element to your visit, Multi- modal 2017 will feature a number of free social and networking events. It is here that you will be able to make new contacts, renew old acquaintances and in- termingle and network with your peers. So be certain to come along to the Albacore Multimodal Hog Roast (18.00–20.00 in JD Wetherspoon in the Atrium on the 5th April). All exhibitors and visitors are invited and all can expect a warm welcome.
So, whether you’re a shipper, importer, manufacturer, exporter, wholesaler or retailer, Multimodal 2017 will undoubtedly offer you want you want; hard-to-get in- formation, ideas to help you fulfil your role better and valuable face-to-face contact.
I very much hope that you will enjoy the events we have arranged for you over the next three days and that you take this opportunity to make new business contacts and find new inspiration and ideas to benefit your business.
Lastly, I would like to thank our supporters, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors for their efforts. I hope that you find your visit educational and informative but most importantly, enjoyable. I welcome feedback on the show from visitors and exhibitors, so please feel free to drop by the Multimodal stand, where you can meet the team.
Thank you for visiting Multimodal 2017 Regards
