News LifeSize adds streaming to video conferencing


Lifesize has announced a new addition to its cloud-based Life- size application. Called Lifesize Live Stream, the new capabil- ity is described as a simple, flexible and secure solution to stream company meetings, ex- ecutive updates, training ses- sions live and with high-defini- tion, at broadcast quality. Lifesize Live Stream is said to deliver unparalleled flexibil- ity, allowing IT administrators to enable an unlimited num- ber of Lifesize virtual meeting rooms to simultaneously stream events with up to 10,000 view- ers and 50 video-enabled sites per event. A single click allows moderators to start a presenta- tion and users to join an event from any location, browser or device.


This new tool also raises the bar for live streaming, allowing organisations to pay based on usage. Strong growth forecast for AR / VR


ABI Research anticipates strong growth in the machine/ embedded vision market for mobile, AR, and VR devices. Shipments are forecast to grow from just over one million units in 2016 to more than 460 mil- lion by 2021. Google Tango-en- abled devices, with dedicated machine vision hardware like sensors and coprocessors will be led by mobile devices with a smaller number of VR and AR devices rounding out the forecast. ABI Research does not include devices with soft- ware-only embedded vision into this market.

Paragon opens interactive showroom and test facility


A new interactive showroom and test facility, near Windsor, has been opened by Paragon Mul- timedia. It has been designed to change the way in which new commercial developments, ex- isting businesses and education providers select their audio-vi- sual systems, like interactive flat panel displays.
