Multimodal 2017, the UK and Ireland’s premier transport and logistics show, is gearing up to be the biggest and most successful in the event’s decade-long history. A series of briefings exploring


More than 9,000 supply chain professionals will attend the free- to-attend show at the Birmingham NEC from 4-6th April, to meet with hundreds of suppliers from leading supply chain companies for three days of networking, new business opportunities, and workshop debates. Multimodal has teamed up


with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), the United Kingdom Warehousing Association (UKWA)


and the


Freight Transport Association (FTA) to put


together a three-


day programme of workshops, masterclasses and panel discussions tackling the issues and trends which affect supply chain decision makers.

International, will be exploring the trends that the logistics industry is facing, as it enters a post-Brexit world driven by the new mobile phone enabled consumer.

affairs, John Keefe, will be discussing the importance of the Channel Tunnel as a trade link for the UK economy in the wake of Britain’s decision to leaving the EU.


The Multimodal 2017 seminars will also include a series of debates focused on air cargo challenges and opportunities, and the event will play host to a meeting of Cargo iQ’s Working Group. Chris Welsh MBE,

general of the Global Shippers’ Forum and director of global and European policy at FTA, will be joined by a number of speakers, including Ariaen Zimmerman, executive director at Cargo IQ, to


talk about the various elements of Air Cargo Performance, how the industry can benefit from transparency, information and control and how this can be achieved. The complete schedule is

Night will be held at the VOX Conference Centre on the evening of 4 April and will be hosted by David Gower OBE, with more than 800 people in attendance, the biggest in the awards’ history. Voting is now open, with


categories including Supplier, Seafreight Operator, Air Cargo


Operator, Road Freight Operator, Rail Freight Operator, Port Operator, and 3PL of the Year. Meanwhile, the judging panel


will choose the Young Logistics Professional, Infrastructure Innovation, Multimodal Personality, and Multimodal Exhibitor of the Year Awards. Multimodal


2016 was the
