3 Step IT, the specialist IT financing and lifecycle management company, has appointed Jason Skidmore as managing director of its UK operations. He takes over the leadership of the business from Jon Davies and Peter Hetherington, who established the UK office 12 years ago. Skidmore brings extensive experience of technology financing and an enviable track record of growth through collaborative relationships. As the commercial leader for GE Capital’s UK Vendor Finance division he successfully rebuilt its commercial strategy. At Dell Financial Services, where he was the EMEA channel director, he led the finance strategy for Dell’s channel partners, driving substantial growth.


David Simpson has been appointed tax partner at chartered accountants Haines Watts and joins the team covering the offices of High Wycombe, Berkhamsted and Aylesbury. He will be assisting clients across Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire. The combination of ever- increasing tax complexity combined with a less tolerant tax administration is making it increasingly difficult for the non- specialist to navigate their financial affairs.


Lloyds Banking Group has strengthened its offering for mid-market businesses in the South East by appointing a new regional head of global transaction banking. Neil Foulkes will lead a team of 30 banking professionals with knowledge of the region’s key industries and specialisms in areas including global cash management, commercial finance and trade and asset finance. Together, they will work closely with firms across the region to help them develop tailored working capital management strategies that drive growth. Foulkes joined Lloyds Banking Group in 2013, taking charge of the mid-market commercial banking team in the South East and Thames Valley. He has more than 28 years of commercial banking experience, previously holding roles at Royal Bank of Scotland and HSBC.


Timico, the managed cloud service provider, with offices in Winnersh, near Reading, has appointed Alex Hendry, ex-commercial and pricing director at Alternative Networks, as its new head of commercial. Hendry had 14 years’ experience at Alternative Networks, heading up the commercial team during a period of rapid organic and acquisitive growth and was responsible for ensuring all customer and supplier transactions met commercial demands. Prior to this, he held other commercial positions including at leading mobile phone retailer, Carphone Warehouse.


Williams Grand Prix Holdings plc has announced the appointment of Paddy Lowe as chief technical officer for the Williams Group, headquartered at Grove, near Wantage. Lowe will take overall management responsibility for the engineering operation at Grove. He will also join the company’s board of directors and take a shareholding in the company. Lowe moves to Williams from current Formula One constructors’ champions Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport.


Leading Thames Valley law firm Blandy & Blandy LLP, which has offices in Reading and Henley-on-Thames, has welcomed highly experienced solicitor Louise Nelson to its probate, tax and trusts team. She will be based in Blandy & Blandy’s Henley-on-Thames office and advises clients on all aspects of wills, probate, estate and inheritance tax planning and court of protection matters.

Property consultant Kempton Carr Croft has appointed Julia Garrard, a chartered surveyor, who has joined the general practice team from Chiltern and South Bucks District Council, bringing with her over 12 years’ experience in the industry. In her role Garrard will be active in all aspects of general practice work including valuations, landlord and tenant matters, rent reviews and lease renewals.


McKay Securities plc, the only UK REIT specialising exclusively in the South East and London office and industrial markets, has further strengthened its board with the promotion of Tom Elliott to executive director with effect from April 1. Elliott joined Reading-based McKay in September 2016 as property director following 11 years with Land Securities Group, most recently as head of investment, London. This experience gained at a leading FTSE100 REIT combines expertise in investment strategy, transactions, asset management and development. Prior to his role at Land Securities, Elliott qualified as a chartered surveyor while working for Knight Frank.
