The Gift of Space
FPCA provides facilities to many community groups BY KATE KAREHA
One of our gifts is the building that our congregation calls home. Each Sunday, we gather in three worship spaces and enjoy learning and fellowship in various classrooms. During the week the church also opens its doors to many support groups and public organizations that benefit from our welcoming spaces.
New to our website is a list of these groups and other free community resources in Lehigh County, which FPCA encourages members and friends to use in time of need.
In addition to our own Stephen Ministries and small groups, individuals and families may need free access to health and social services in our area or may be looking to join an adult or children’s group outside of the church. Here is a list of some of the community groups that also call our church home each week.
Alcoholics Anonymous in the Lehigh Valley connects people with drinking problems who have found a way to stay sober, one day at a time. With various meeting locations across the Lehigh Valley, this group meets at FPCA every Tursday from 7
to 8:30 p.m. in room 217.
Alateen Family Groups provide mutual support for young people affected by someone else’s drinking. In Alateen meetings, teens can hear how peers have used the tools of recovery to help deal with their family situations. Te group meets every Tursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in room 220.
