MACK Youth Art Month Winners - Middle School / High School National Youth

Art Month March is National Youth Art Month and we are excited to celebrate the work of our middle and high school students. They will compete in separate categories. Art works may be, but are not limited to paintings, drawings, collage, mixed media, computer design, sculpture, etc. The Youth Art Month Exhibition will be held on Friday, March 10 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Our live piano performance will feature the students of Ms. Jean Gale.

“Introduction To

China Painting” We encourage you to join us for a new program offered this month at the MACK. In this two day workshop entitled, “Introduction to China Painting” students will be able to create a family

heirloom. The imagery of this hand painted piece will be will be spring white or pink dogwood. Perfect for the season. This workshop will be lead by Carol Craig a Certified Porcelain Artist/ Teacher, IPAT and WOCPT instructor.

This workshop will meet on Monday, March 6 and Monday, March 20 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The total cost for this workshop is $65; $50 for the class fee and a $15 supply fee. Includes all instruction, patterns, porcelain piece, kiln firings, and use of paints, brushes, mediums. Deadline for Registration and $25 deposit is Saturday, February 25. This is a great opportunity to experience an art form not readily available. It was most popular in the late 1890’s and early 1900’s. Take home a beautiful hand painted piece, signed by YOU, to be treasured as a family heirloom for generations to come. You’ll have the memory of painting it yourself and the friends you make, too.

Community Threads meetings/sewing sessions are now being held at Hickory Knob State Park in the Bordeaux Room. Lunch is available in the restaurant. These sewing sessions center around work on individual projects. This program typically meets monthly on the second Wednesday and fourth Thursday of the month. There is no fee to join this program; however, a small monthly donation is greatly appreciated. The Community Threads

Workshop at 218 S. Main Street is available for small group sessions and serves as our classroom for member and community workshops. Our training calendar will be provided soon.

Sale Saturday, March 18, 2016 / 8:30 - 3:00 Accepting donations between February 1 - March 15

We are now collecting donations for our annual yard sale fundraiser which will be on Saturday, March 18 from 8:30 am - 3:00 pm. Donations will be accepted for this fundraiser between February 1 - March 15. Tax receipts are available for your records. We accept: furniture, appliances, jewelry, sporting equipment, garden tools, office supplies, tools, dishes, DVDs, children’s items, artwork/decor, home goods and more! Large item pick-up is available by appointment. We do not accept: clothes, books or computers / TVs and recommend our local non-profit partners for these donations.•
