As part of its celebration of the most memorable images from the sport, International Badminton Magazine presents Li Xuerui of China standing on the Olympic podium after beating compatriot Wang Yihan in the Women’s Singles final of the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Li, who plays under the banner of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, just qualified for London 2012 thanks to an unexpected win at the Yonex All England that year when she was still relatively unknown .
