Accountancy firm MHA MacIntyre Hudson has added to its Reading team with the appointment of Tallat Mahmood as director of corporate finance. Mahmood has over 10 years of corporate finance experience, both as an adviser and as an equity investor, and specialises in working with owner-managed businesses and entrepreneurs. He has previously advised clients on disposals, buyouts and fundraisings, and also engages with business owners to discuss potential strategic options in order to maximise value.
McKay Securities plc has appointed Jeremy Bates as a non-executive director and a member of the audit, remuneration and nomination committees. He is a director of Savills UK, head of UK Transactional Services, European head of Worldwide Occupier Services, and he has been a leading agent in the South East market for the past 25 years. Having qualified as a chartered surveyor in 1990 with Savills, the global real- estate services provider, he gained extensive experience in the South East office and industrial markets and was appointed head of national offices for Savills in 2003.
Timico Technology Group, the managed IT, Internet and communications service provider with offices in Winnersh Triangle, Wokingham, has announced two new heavyweight appointments. Clodagh Murphy joins the team as chief operating officer. Formerly managing director of KCOM plc’s Eclipse business, she developed and implemented the strategy to diversify the business from a single-product consumer-broadband provider to a multi-product business-technology service
provider.Also joining the team is Jeff Palmer, as Timico’s new sales director. With almost 20 years’ experience in sales and business development, he joins from Daisy Group where he was director for group vendor alliances and supply chain services.
Experienced litigation solicitor Sarah Barker- Benfield has joined Guildford-based Setfords Solicitors as a consultant solicitor. While Setfords’ head office is in Guildford, Barker-Benfield will be maintaining her Hampshire client base, having previously worked for Scott Bailey in Lymington.

Law firm Pitmans LLP, whose offices include Reading and Southampton, has appointed Andrew Murray as a private client partner based in its office in the Royal Exchange, London. Murray has over 30 years’ experience acting for individuals in relation to wills, the administration of estates and lifetime tax planning. He has particular expertise in dealing with probate and tax planning issues for family offices, and in powers of attorney. He was formerly the head of trusts, tax and estates at Bishop and Sewell LLP, and he also founded the investment services department at Lawrence Graham.
Law firm DMH Stallard has wasted no time in announcing its first partner- level appointment of 2017 – Kate Norgett who joins the firm’s award- winning corporate M&A team. Norgett qualified in 1997 and brings M&A and private-equity experience from her time with Clifford Chance and CMS Cameron McKenna. Before joining DMH Stallard, she was a partner at Barlow Jonathan Grant. Norgett’s appointment will be followed by other senior appointments as the Top 100 law firm continues to strengthen its presence across the South East.
InstaVolt, the Basingstoke- headquartered company which provides charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, has bolstered its senior management team with the appointment of Matthew Tunstall as director of operations. The company believes he will play an instrumental role in helping it to introduce rapid- charging points in more than 3,000 locations across the UK by 2020. Tunstall has experience in the clean energy sector, having held senior roles at some of the UK’s top energy-efficiency firms.
