10th Anniversary Celebrations Welcome Teams Give aWee Push to 'Aye Been'


In his address at the service to celebrate our congregation's tenth anniversary, The Revd Calum MacLeod, Minister at St Giles Cathedral, congratulated us on the celebration of our heritage but also encouraged us to challenge what has 'aye been'. As a small (and it has to be said incidental) gesture in that direction, the Kirk Session has agreed to the membership of our Congregational Worship Welcome Teams being extended beyond the traditional Elders and Board Members.


It was good that some of the younger folk in the congregation felt able to take on service duties at the recent Watchnight Service and I hope some of them may feel able to offer their service in the regular Welcome Teams. Likewise it would be good if other Members of the Congregation were able to offer their service. You will all be pretty familiar with the welcome and collection tasks that are involved so nothing to fear from that respect and advice and assistance from colleagues is always available.
