Santa Rosa, CA. ~ Terry Lind- ley, the chief marketing officer and senior vice president of American AgCredit, is retiring after 40 years with the Santa Rosa-based agricultural lender. Lindley retires on Jan. 31,

capping a distinguished career and a legacy of leadership in Sonoma County agriculture and the larger community. He serves on many boards related to agriculture and education, including 20 years as a trustee of Santa Rosa Junior College where he earned an agriculture business degree in 1976. “A true visionary, Terry

founded the first marketing department in the Farm Credit System,”

said Byron Enix,

CEO. “During his four-decade tenure, the Association has realized immense growth to become the fifth largest lend- ing cooperative in the System. Terry is respected by all and will be greatly missed. We are

extremely grateful for his con- tributions over the years.” Lindley, 61, was born and

raised on a family ranch in Humboldt County where he learned the value of hard work and gained a profound respect for the land and the people who farm it. His understanding of agriculture served him well as he worked to meet the financial needs of the farmers and ranch- ers who are part of the farm lending cooperative. In 1977, Lindley was hired

as a loan officer and appraiser at what is now American Ag- Credit. Over the years he rose to executive positions and was a key part of the team that guided the agricultural lender from $300 million in assets and a handful of employees to a company that, today, holds $9 billion in assets with more than 500 employees in six states. “It’s been an amazing 40

years, and I’ve been lucky to

have been able to take part in the growth of American Ag- Credit,” Lindley said. “I con- sider it a great honor to have served the farmers and ranch- ers throughout our lending area and to contribute to the greater community where we do busi- ness every day.” Lindley’s ac- complishments

have been recog- nized with many awards over the years including SRJC’s President’s Medallion, the Sonoma County Fair’s North Bay Rancher of the Year, and the Har- vest Fair’s Friend of Agriculture. He’s also been named Friend of Sonoma County Farm Bu- reau and recipient of the 4-H Foundation’s Shining Star Award. In 1996 he was named the Marketer of the Year for the National Farm Credit System. Lindley’s legacy and con-

tributions will be celebrated at Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) AgTrust’s 2017 Ag- Stravaganza on Nov. 18 at Shone Farm in Forestville. The event pays tribute to an outstanding Sonoma County leader while raising funds for SRJC’s Agriculture & Natu-

entine with your special someone, consider how Ebert expressed his feelings for a 1995 film, “A Walk in the Clouds,” directed by Alfonso Arau with Keanu Reeves, Aitana Sanchez-Gijon, Anthony Quinn, and Giancarlo Giannini, a stellar cast. Ebert wrote it is a “glorious romantic fantasy, aflame with pas- sion and bittersweet longing. One needs perhaps to have a little of these qualities in one’s soul to re- spond fully to the film, which to the jaundiced eye might look like melodrama, but that to me sang with innocence and trust.”
